Frenk van Meeteren July 15, 1952 – guitar, banjo, vocals

Frenk studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the Rotterdam Conservatory. He toured for many years through Europe (e.g. Ireland, England, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Russia) with various orchestras, including the string band Crooks, of which he is the founder. Frenk is most interested in the older American styles like Jazz, Blues, Country and combinations thereof: Western Swing, Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll, Jump & Jive. He was active in the Dutch alternative theater scene (Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Parade, Rotterdam Folktheater) which includes the Gangbusters, a combination specialized in vocal and instrumental jazz from the 40’s. In recent years, Frenk mainly preoccupies himself with different bands made up for the occasion, playing jazz and blues material in which the improvisation is central.
