We are saddened to inform you that our former drummer Bob Dekker passed away. We wish his family all strength.

Drummer Bob Dekker received a classical as well as a jazz-Conservatory education. Bob took lessons from Kees Kranenburg and John Engels. Because of his broad musical interest he has been playing all kind of styles throughout the years. Bob performed not only much with classical ensembles and symphony-orchestras (timpany, vibes , etc.), but played also in latin bands like Los Allegres and accompanied jazz soloists like Ruud Brink and Scott Hamilton. One of his jazz-CD's was awarded an Edison in 1989. Bob played drums with the Dutch Swing College Band from 1990 until 2005. Bob made many recordings with the Dutch Swing College Band and toured with great success all around the globe through all European countries as well as Australia, South Africa, Malaysia and Thailand.

The Dutch Swing College Band® is very sorry to hear that His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has passed away. We would like to offer the Thai people our condolences for the loss of your beloved King.
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was also a great jazz composer and musician, we will always remember him through his songs. We recorded his Royal jazz composition ‘Candlelight Blues'. (arrangement by Menno Daams)
