BERT BOEREN
Between 1985-1999 trombone player Bert Boeren was a member of the Dutch Swing College Band with which he recorded 13 albums and travelled all over the world. In 2021 Bert was welcomed back to the Dutch Swing College Band. Bert is teaching jazz trombone at the Conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. He gave masterclasses in Finland, China, Germany, UK, Hungary, Czech Republic, Japan and Mexico, and represented The Netherlands at famous festivals like the NordRing festival and the European Jazz Week. Bert also played with the Euro-Jazz Big Band and the EBU Big Band, and in 1992 was soloist at the Classical Jazz Festival in Palm Beach (USA). With the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Bert played in Japan, South Africa, Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, China and many other countries. Bert is a much sought-after jazz musician. Regularly he performed as soloist with the Metropole Orchestra and the Skymasters. He performed with many world famous jazz musicians including Scott Hamilton, Warren Vaché, Clark Terry, Arnett Cobb, Toots Tielemans, Benny Golson, Chick Corea, Satoru Oda, Joe Lovano, Patty Austin, Gregory Porter and Urbie Green. Bert recorded with the Dutch Swing College Band, Rob van Bavel Octet, Bart's Bones, The Swingcats, Cubop City Big Band, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and Pim Jacobs. Bert also shared the stage with pop bands like Doe Maar, Anouk, Herman Brood, Marco Borsato and Nick & Simon. Bert is winner of the Peter Schilperoort Award, Femø Jazzpris (DK), the Japanese Kobe-Jazzstreet Award and (with the DSCBand) the Dutch Export Award and Bird Award.
