FRITS LANDESBERGEN
Frits Landesbergen is a drummer, arranger and vibraphonist with an international reputation. He is the winner of many prestigious jazz rewards including the Wessel Ilckenprijs, Pall Mall Swing Award, AVRO-cultuurprijs "De Belofte" and also the Meerjazzprijs 2013. As a freelancer, Frits performed with Georgie Fame, Milt Jackson, Toots Thielemans, Eddie Daniels, Louis van Dijk, Thijs van Leer, Scott Hamilton, Joe Pass, Buddy de Franco and Monty Alexander. As a sideman, he played on over 120 cd’s with a.o. Madeline Bell, Ann Burton, Louis van Dijk, Laura Fygi, the Rosenberg trio, Thijs van Leer, the Metropole and London Symphony Orchestras and Monty Alexander’s trio. In addition, Frits was for years a university teacher at the Royal Conservatory, The Haque, teaching vibraphone, drums, percussion and jazz ensemble.
Drummer Frits Landesbergen adds an unequalled swinging impulse to the Dutch Swing College Band which continues its tradition of unique and very exciting performances of classic jazz worldwide.
